Erin Wright, who goes by @erin_wright_ on TikTok, revealed how American Airlines allegedly “banned” her from flying the airline permanently.
“I was permanently banned from flying American Airlines for having sex with a man on the plane even though I’m a lesbian,” Wright, 24, wrote online.
In the 4 minute and 47 second clip, uploaded in August. 8 with over 2.6 million views, Wright explained how she was denied boarding her flight to New Orleans for her sister’s bachelorette party.
“The [gate agent] looks nervous and she’s like, ma’am, I’m so sorry to tell you this, but you’ve actually been banned from flying on American Airlines,” Wright continued. “I was like, ‘What? I’ve never done anything.'”
As much as Wright pleaded with the gate agent to explain the rationale for her deportation, the agent resisted.
“I’m very sorry, but it’s an internal security issue. I can’t say, but the person on the phone told me you should know why,” she added.
Wright was confused, “disappointed” and overwhelmed by this unusual scenario, but remained determined to go to her sister’s party. She had to get $1,000 for a new flight while waiting for the $400 refund from her previous flight.
“I understand that I will miss my flight and I just need to book another flight. So I quickly booked myself another $1,000 round trip to New Orleans,” Wright said. “I’ll clear that up and they’ll refund me.”
After 12 days of waiting and no refund, Wright was notified that she was banned from the airline for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a man inside the plane’s bathroom.
“I am a 24-year-old lesbian. You see me. Do I have sexual relations with any man? No,” she scoffed.
Wright tried to think of the best way she could prove she wasn’t the brave passenger American Airlines claimed she was by emailing customer relations.
“I sent them a very serious but also kind of funny email, because in it I’m like, ‘I don’t know how to prove it wasn’t me, other than the fact that I’m literally a lesbian,'” Wright said. .
Fortunately, Wright’s mother was able to vouch for her daughter via email, which helped expedite her removal from the no-fly list. While Wright’s name was cleared, the true high clubs were not revealed.
“So now I’m off the American Airlines permanent no-fly list, I also have a $1,000, but they refunded me $400 for the flight,” Wright said.
Although Wright is happy to fly without restrictions, she predicted that American Airlines will give her more money for the disaster, since it forced her to buy another flight.
The Post reached out to American Airlines for comment.
“Thank you for being the worst,” Wright captioned the clip.
Many people were shocked by Wright’s troubled situation.
“Everything else aside, how did they let you book if you got banned,” asked one observer.
Wright replied, “That,” revealing that she has no idea how the flight booking happened if she was banned.
Another person suggested: “Make a complaint to the Department of Transport. They are legally required to not only refund you but give you an answer.”
“Can you take American Airlines to small claims court? Did you purchase the second flight with a credit card that offers travel insurance?” added a TikToker.
Despite the confusion, Wright updated her followers on the latest change in flight status.
“When they called to tell me they were taking me off the no-fly list, they said, ‘I hope that wasn’t too much of a hassle’…Oh, you mean the last three months of communication, I missed the flight , getting my lawyer involved and having to email three directors at AA to get customer relations to respond to me??”
But in a follow-up video, posted on August 11, Wright revealed how she was able to recoup the money she lost from the views her TikTok clip garnered.
“I made almost the exact amount I lost, so American Airlines doesn’t even have to fix this,” she said.
Wright claims that American Airlines has yet to contact him since the previous update on August 11, but plans to take action against them.
“I’m really grateful for all your help and blowing up that video because it took a lot of stress out of me financially,” the content creator praised.
